My FIRST ”Extreme Day Trip”!! To Dublin!
Wow…..what a day it’s been! Dublin is lovely!!
Had a brilliant day, very tiring, we left the house at 3 this morning and just sat in Dublin airport now waiting to board to come home, then 1hr45min drive home from the airport! But it’s so worth it!!
Flights for 2 adults & 1 child (13yo) cost me around £75 return! Left Leeds at 6am, left Dublin 8.45pm (or I will be when we board the plane) 🤣
Parking at Leeds airport cost me £37
I booked flights then went to book kilmainham gaol museum tour and was completely sold out, but rang them a couple of days ago and they advised me to go online at 9.15am on the day to try getting tickets as cancellations come up, luckily enough I got one! That was €8 per adult & €4 child (pay online).
Bus from just outside the airport with AirCoach was €30 return for 3 of us (pay at a little booth outside, cash or card).
Taxi from the centre to Kilmainham Gaol was €15 (you can wave a taxi off the road and they’ll stop if they have no one in), then got a bus back to the centre which was €2 each (this needed to paid in coins)!
Had a nice mooch around, bit wet for a couple of hours but didn’t spoil our trip! Most places I knew didn’t open until later (realised this after I’d booked the flights), but some still opened at 9am and we just sat in the airport coffee when we landed and had a coffee before we headed out!
All in all an absolutely fab day out for us and we’ve already decided we are coming back for a weekend trip next time planning on going on a Friday and leaving on a Sunday! ✈️
