Only the second time I have ever been to Croatia, and it didn't disappoint! I'm not a fan of Game of Thrones so that was meaningless to me, but it was still a stunning place to look around! The old town is surrounded by the walls, which you can pay to go around on (€35), I didn't do this as I didn't think I'd appreciate it that much.
There are many restaurants that offer an amazing variety of food for all pallets so no issues there. The ice cream shops are brilliant aswell, and it isn't too expensive in the great scheme of things.
I'm more of a walking around looking person than a pay to go in to a museum person so as such I didn't do a lot other than walked all around the place, but that was well worth it!
I would say that the cable car is definitely worth it, the views are incredible, and had I known about it earlier, I would have planned that in first as they have some off road buggies up there that looked amazing fun (€45 for 2 people, €50 for one). There is also a museum up there which has exhibits from the Yugoslavia war back in the 1990s which is fascinating. Could easily spend a day up there, and I will be returning for that alone.
The bus drops you at the main gate of the Old Town, but to get the bus back to the airport, you are picked up from the Cable Car bus stop.
I'm sitting in the airport terminal at the moment and there's currently a delay of about 1.5 hours on the return flight, about normal 😂 (I always assume it's going to be late every return flight, and if it isn't, then that's a bonus!
