This week my Sis and I did our first EDT to Lisbon.
7am flight out of Manchester with EasyJet , we were at the airport for 5.30 am and through security in 10 mins and had time for a morning brew before we boarded. Landed 9.45 am and we were through passport control in 15 mins. We quickly got to grips with their metro system. At €6 the 24 hr ticket is an absolute bargain using it on buses, trains , trams and the metro. Metro is so easy to use, really clean and not too crowded . You are easily in the city centre in 20 mins from the airport.
First stop was brunch, we made our way downhill to the water via a few shops and found a lovely place with a view of The Iona ship that was docked for the day! Next off we went back up the hill to hop on the no 28 tram. Gosh that tram doesn’t half get close to buildings and people walking along 😂 So many beautiful buildings and views along the way. We took the tram all the way to the end having gotten on at the start at Martim Moniz. Once we got to the end we then made our way back down the hill on foot taking in more landmarks along the way.
We then ended up at Time Out Market, great place for food so much choice. We then had a bit of chill time sat outside at the market near all the stalls and had a few beers and done a bit of people watching.
Then it was off on the move again getting more steps taking in some of the beautiful buildings they have. So many amazing colours and designs of tiles on the buildings. We then got back on the tram at 6.30 pm for our 8.40 flight back to Manchester. Flew back with Ryanair, the boarding procedure was an experience 🤦♀️ All in all we had a great day, 21k steps later we got in bed at 1am.
We are now looking for our next adventure!
The 18 degree temps and feeling the sun our faces was a so good!
Flights were £28 each return , we spent €6 on metro ticket each and then spent about £80’on food drink bewteen us . We had planned it as our Christmas pressi to each other so family had gave us cash towards it so really it cost us the flights 💁😁
