My first Extreme Day Trip to Venice during Carnival 03 Feb 2024 flight 6.55 am flight back 22.55 pm for a car park I used app just park to leave car at Raddison car park paid £25 for 24h
I must say that I'm not so convinced using that car park again as I struggled to find a space. Car park is very limited. I paid for sits in the plane as it was firs extreme trip with my son. Otherwise tickets would cost £71 ish for 2
Landing in Venice I went to collect tickets for water transport I paid return for 2 for £46 pounds using get your Guide app. You can also buy tickets yourself for 27euro round trip per person in the office in the airport.
I took a blue line as per my son's wish but I regret not to take orange one as it takes u through main canals π In the future.. for a way back.. I would take a bus as it takes less time than a water boat and to be honest taking a boat blue line in the night time was not worth it.
Also I do recommend to know from where shuttle bus going from just in case your day will go in unexpected way π
I took a return boat around 7pm thinking to getting on airport before 9pm as I suppose to be, but I took a wrong boat and ended in hotel Hamilton.. Nowhere in the darkness.. Staff at reception was really helpful explaining that next boat to airport will be in next 35 minutes but I will be at airport at 21.09 not 20.55...i had a dilemma.. Take a risk not knowing airport in Venice and time for ques or take a boat taxi for 150 euro from Hamilton hotel offered by staff π
That was crazy time. I took a risk and decided to be late in airpor. Luckily check in went smoothly and I was on time. But I do remember my son's face expression thinking to pay such huge amount for a water taxi or thinking what's gonna happen in case we will be late for a flight π
My advice, take a schedule of boats to plan your time back as blue line take u back 1h 40 minutes.
Tickets to palace I bough without any queues but there are costly.. I paid 30euro for adult and 15euro for child... I think they re too costly. For basilica ticket cost 6 euro if I good remember per person and basilica Museum on the roof 7euro per person. To get to basilica roof Museum don't get out of basilica.. Before exit on the left there will be que to go up. Kids up to 6 years for free to the museum.
Basilica is closed on Sundays and during holidays.
My kid wasn't impressed at all he was bored (age 13) π
We had some pasta meal including glass of wine and during for 52.50 euro and late pizza with drinks for 34 euro
