Did my first EDT today (this group is a good/bad influence lol) went from Manchester to Brussels and back. Details as follows hopefully someone will find them helpful
MCR to Charleroi 0640hrs
Flight just over an hour. ✈️
Got the Flibco shuttle bus from Charleroi airport to Brussels Midi (approx 1hr) - some waiting here for me due to transport strikes at present.
Went to choco museum (fun way to spend an hour and you get free samples)Grand Place (stunning architecture) and the three Pis statues (yes there's three!) for photo ops, had cherry beer at Delerium Village (lids of other flavours) , looked around Mont Des Arts district, various churches and beautiful buildings, Royal Passages, had some fries, waffles and chocolates. I walked everywhere cos I'm pretty fast ha but metro and undergrounds easily connect everything. Loads of places to eat, shop and sightsee.
The Flibco shuttle back took twice the time(!) I think due to roadworks (rush hour too, and diversions so got a bonus magical mystery tour on the way back! Keep that in mind if you fly to and from Charleroi yourself as it is quite far from the city centre. Brussels is not cheap though so budget accordingly. Very happy to have ticked Belgium off the bucket list though.
Flight back from Charleroi to Manchester at 2155hrs.
Total cost of flights (nabbed during Ryanair's flash sale was 47 quid.
