Trip Details
Initially was gonna do an EDT but when I got offered a lift to and from Stansted, we thought we would pay a bit more and stay here.

Flight was at 08:05. Btw I noticed some bags were checked for size at the gate. We landed at 13:10. The airport bus was waiting right outside (no 100) and this took us to Old Town just over half hour. I used Google maps to guide me. We saw La Mama restaurant on the way to our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) and decided to have lunch here. The food was nice and I got to try some goulash.

We then checked in then shortly after decided to go for drink at Van Gogh Cafe. This was only about 2 mins from us. This was an ornate cafe with guess what? Lots of Mr Gogh's paintings. I did feel it was a tourist trap and overpriced.

We walked a bit around Old Town but the tiredness was getting to me so went back to rest where I must have dozed off for a bit.

We had a reservation for dinner at Caru Ce Bere at 9pm. This was a gorgeous old building and had live folk dancing. If you come here, make sure you do book ahead and try and ensure you get a table where you can see the entertainment. Even when we were leaving, it was still pretty packed.

Can't keep awake so bit of price info
Flight Stansted to Bucharest £39 (booked about a month ago)
Free transfers (was kindly dropped off)
Bus about 59p (used contactless on bus to pay)
Lunch at La Mama £9
Hotel £100 between 2 of us. Plenty of cheaper options though. I'd recommend staying by Old Town.
Hot chocolate at Van Gogh £6
Dinner at Caru Ce Bere £46 (between 2 of us.

Hope this helps someone
Therme trip after I've slept..

PS . We thought we'd ask a yellow taxi driver how much it would cost to go airport from our hotel in Old Town. I was quoted 200 RON or 50 euros whereas Uber has quoted me about £14

The next morning, we checked out and took Bolt (approx £4) to Village Museum as this was on route to Therme. We had a brief look at the historical Romanian dwellings here. Admission isn't too expensive but we had disabled concession so can't remember how much it is normally.

From here, we took another Bolt car to Therme (about £8). It was after 2pm. Queues were not very long and we bought the 4.5 hour ticket (for Elysium) as had to leave before 8pm for our return flight. Time flew really fast and we didn't even have time to have dinner there! We were too late for optional massages but was glad as had more time to enjoy the facilities. Don't forget to take your flip-flops and towel although I hired the latter. You can buy flip flops there and hire a robe but I didn't really feel I needed one. I did buy a mocktail and although I can't remember how much it was, I remember it was under £5.

It's a cashless system so you settle your bill at the end with your bracelet given to you when you buy your ticket.

I'm aware there are lots of Therme reviews on this page but guess our newer members may not have seen the older ones and hoping this might help someone.

We left about 7.45pm and attempted to book Bolt/Uber a few times. They did keep getting cancelled. We met another couple (Gemma, another member here and Jason) who were facing the same issues so decided to pool together and go in the first accepted cab, which was their one. Its about 10 mins drive back to the airport and under a fiver. You can take a shuttle bus too which in hindsight would have probably been easier.
