On my way back from my second Extreme Day Trip and I'm officially obsessed. Left Stansted at 8:15 , landed in Stockholm at 11:40 and I was in the city by 13:00. Visited a preserved war ship at the Vasa museum, walked around the old town of Galma Stan, ate some meatballs and a few cinnamon rolls, sung a few tunes in the Abba Museum and got back to the airport by 19:30 with enough time to buy a magnet before the 21:35 flights.
Cost Breakdown
Flights - £42 Return from Stansted
Stansted Express - £16 Return with a Railcard (devastatingly it was a rail replacement today but we ball)
Arlanda Express train - £24 for an under 25 return
Vasa Museum - £14
Abba Museum - £20
Food/Drink - £22.70
Total: £138.70
The cost of the buses/ferries around the city haven't come out yet but I can't imagine they'll make an enormous difference. It was such a fun day, Vasa was like nothing I'd ever seen before and the Abba Museum was definitely a giggle. Got a 'proper' holiday booked for February but I've also got two more EDTs to Eindhoven and Tirana booked for March/April. Love this group so much, it's such a great way to travel on a budget! I've also made a separate account to document these trips @LaurensTravelAdventures on Instagram if anyone's interested.
Oh and I'm fairly sure there was another group of day trippers on the same flights today so on the off chance you ever see this, I hope you had an amazing day
